Linda Vogelsang, LPC, NCC
Linda Vogelsang is a counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and eating disorders. She also works with individuals struggling with sexual identity. Linda has spend much of her career working with young adults. With this past experience, Linda understands that young adults today face challenges unique to their generation. So she adapts her approach while working with her clients to best meet their needs and help them achieve their goals in counseling.
Linda is a Level II certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) counselor. Linda feels that EMDR is one of the best treatments for trauma. She says by using EMDR, her clients have experienced faster and better results in working through their trauma. Linda believes that EMDR is particularly beneficial for persons who have experienced sexual trauma.
Linda is also an experienced marriage and couples counselor. Linda understands that couples come to counseling for a variety of reasons. It is important to her that she meets her clients where they are and she works with the couple to solve problems, improve communication, and heal past hurts.
In addition to EMDR, Linda frequently uses Client-Centered and Cognitive Behavor Therapy (CBT) in her counseling sessions. While she believes that both approaches are helpful, Linda makes sure to modify her approach to best suit the needs of her clients. Linda works at the Cape Girardeau office.
