Online Counseling

Teletherapy

We are now offering Online Video & Phone Therapy services.

It’s easy, convenient and secure. Our clients find it easy to set up, and they appreciate that they can receive counseling safely in this difficult situation. And under the current COVID-19 situation, most insurances will pay for teletherapy just like in-person sessions.

Teletherapy Marriage Counseling Sessions

We are pleased to be able to offer teletherapy, which is phone or video counseling throughout the state of Missouri, using HIPAA-compliant, easy-to-use software.

Advantages of Teletherapy include:

  • access to experienced Individual and Marriage Counselors no matter where you live in the State of Missouri
  • no need to get a baby-sitter if you have young children
  • sessions from the privacy of your home or office
  • no need to drive to and from our office locations
  • no need to sit in a waiting room with other people

How does Teletherapy work?

Call any of our office locations at (573) 803-1246 (Cape Girardeau), (573) 218-9699 (Farmington) or (636) 333-2641 (Arnold) to make an appointment. We will send you an email link, which you can click to join in a virtual counseling session. You can use your computer, tablet or even your smart phone to participate and you do not need to download any software or subscribe to any service. You can talk to your counselor as you normally would — it’s that easy!

Is it covered by my insurance?

Most healthcare plans provide coverage for telehealth just like in-office therapy. Even if you think you don’t have coverage for telehealth, or can’t afford payment, please give us a call — we continue to get updates from insurance plans that are expanding telehealth benefits.

I’m home with my family and don’t know if I have a private space to talk — any advice?

We understand that this can be difficult. Some of our clients meet for teletherapy sessions while on a walk, sitting in their car, or from their backyard. Often our counselors can adjust their schedules to connect with you during less busy times for your household — such as providing sessions on different days and earlier than usual. You can also try just doing a phone session if that’s easier for you.

I’m still not sure Teletherapy is right for me – maybe I should wait until I can see my counselor again in person?

It’s understandable to want to continue an in-person connection with your counselor. However, in these very unpredictable times, there is no way of knowing how long this could go on. Connecting with your counselor via teletherapy is an easy way to avoid disrupting your care.
If you are hesitant to try teletherapy, we encourage you to try at least one session to see what it’s like. Most clients are reporting that they find the online counseling sessions enjoyable and helpful during these stressful times!

We welcome the opportunity to discuss Teletherapy options with you!
