Robert VanderMyde MA, CIT
Robert is a counselor under the supervision of Derek Stricklin. Robert specializes in individual counseling for adults struggling with trauma or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Robert also provides marriage and relationship counseling. Robert helps with a variety of relationship problems including communication, parenting, domestic violence, and conflict-resolution.
Robert believes in creating a positive therapeutic experience. He wants his clients to get the most out of counseling. To do this, he establishes a safe and secure, healthy counseling environment. He wants his clients to feel safe enough to explore the causes of their current problems so that they can find the best solutions for their situation.
Robert utilizes a variety of therapeutic styles including Solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered therapy. Robert uses a hybrid of these techniques to help his clients get the most out of counseling. He understands that no two people come to counseling with the same experiences, so he varies his approach to help his clients meet their individual goals in a way that best suits them.
