Rebecca Ihle MA, PLPC
Rebecca is a counselor under the supervision of Kimberly Osmanagic. Rebecca has experience working with individual adults of all ages, adolescents, and couples.
Rebecca practices a values aware approach and has dedicated herself to a lifelong journey of self-exploration and self-awareness to ensure she provides a safe, non-judgmental, and non-bias space for all. She uses techniques from several therapeutic modalities through the lens of an ecological perspective anchored in Person-Centered, strengths-based, and emotions-focused therapy, with a particular focus on somatic experiencing, mindfulness, affect phobia, and the autonomic nervous system’s relationship and adaptation to social behavior and our daily lives (Polyvagal Theory).
In explaining her views of the therapy process, Rebecca believes the state of one’s mental health and physical health are connected, and our environment can have an impact on one’s growth and development. Rebecca has a particular interest in working with individuals from an ecological perspective and views therapy, exercise, nutrition, and sleep as preventative health measures that influence one’s overall mental an physical health and well-being.
Rebecca says, “My role in the therapeutic relationship is to help the client explore and resolve life’s troubles by becoming more aware of maladaptive patterns of thinking and behavior that may contribute to problems and develop adaptive patterns and personal skills to manage future challenging life events. It is my belief that all people are capable of change and have the ability within themselves to resolve their own problems, though sometimes we many need a little assistance in therapy.”
Rebecca is a Webster Institute for Clinical Scholarship alum where she received specialized training in Ecological Model in Counseling. She also received training in Affect phobia, Working with the Fallout of Narcissistic Abuse, and Polyvagal Informed Therapy. She is in the process of completing The Role of Nutrition in Mental Health and a Mental Health and Nutrition Certification Course.
